The Installation

Necessary Knowledge

To install CMSimple on a webserver you should be able to:

The installation process

  1. Extract the zip file with in a folder on your PC.
  2. Upload the contents of the folder via ftp on your web server. You can install CMSimple in the DomainRoot or in a subfolder.
  3. The folders 2author, 2lang, 2site und 2site2lang are copy templates and should not be uploaded to the webserver.
  4. On some older web servers you still have to set the necessary read and write permissions for some files and folders. This is usually no longer necessary on modern web servers.

CMSimple is installed now. You can call the domain (or the domain/subdirectory/) and log in with the default password "test". In CMSimple 5.1 and higher you have 5 minutes for this procedure, from the upload of CMSimple on.

The login link is located bottom right of the page.

Important Notes

!!! Please change your CMSimple password immediately !!!

In CMSimple 5.1 and higher you have 5 minutes for this procedure, from the upload of CMSimple on. After that, you can no longer log in with the standard password, and you have to activate the setup. How to do this, you can find out in the readme.php file in the root folder of the download.

The CMSimple password can be changed under settings => CMS when you are logged in. On the same site you can change other important settings.

The new CMSimple comes set to English, so you should also change the language, if necessary. Everything else is self-explanatory, just browse around a little bit in the settings.
